Your Child's First Steps Into A Wider World
Foundation Stage (FS) is often the first formal education a child undertakes and our teachers are very sensitive to the fact that children are not always used to the school routine.
Our teaching is based on the 2021 English National Foundation Stage curriculum and is delivered through a multi-sensory, play-based approach.
We maximise our wonderful school grounds which act as an extension of the classroom to expand the range of activities students may access on a daily basis.
The Early Years Foundation Stage (Nursery and Reception) has 7 areas of learning and development:
-
Personal, Social and Emotional Development
-
Communication and Language
-
Physical Development
-
Literacy
-
Mathematics
-
Understanding the World
-
Expressive Arts and Design
These areas of learning and development are explored through topics such as 'My World' and 'Friendship'. The teachers play a key role in providing children with a safe, secure feeling at school, which helps them to thrive.
